Creating Default Report/Statement headers and footers in ProLaw 12

Monday, April 30th, 2012 | ProLaw Case Management | Mike Smith

ProLaw 12 does not include any header or footer information on any of the reports or statements by default.  This can be confusing when printing reports or statementsas they are often lengthy and easy to misplace pages.  If you print multiple reports, as most people will before going to the printer, its difficult to tell where one ends and where one begins.  Luckily, ProLaw has made it simple to apply a default header and footer.  This also helps if the firm letterhead changes for statements, you will only need to edit it in one place and then apply to all the statements.

Stage Exchange Backup Exec Restore Job to Alternate Path

Thursday, March 1st, 2012 | Backup and Restore Solutions, Microsoft Exchange | Cathy Spears

An Exchange user accidentally SHIFT+Deleted an important Outlook Inbox subfolder with numerous subfolders of its own. There is a full nightly Exchange backup with Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R2 on tape. The Exchange 2010 database is installed on the D-drive of the server with 840 GB of free space—more than enough for staging. (Staging is the Backup Exec process of restoring the entire Information Store in order to pluck and restore the necessary mailbox items.) I ran the job configured to restore to the original location. After about 30 minutes, the restore job failed with error code E000848F “The path on the media server for staging temporary restore data when restoring individual items from tape ran out of disk space.”
