Mobility for ProLaw!

Coming May 6th, Thomson Reuters is releasing an idevice application for ProLaw which will allow users to utilize a full ProLaw client on their idevices.  Time entry, notes and almost anything ProLaw will now be available on the go with your idevice of choice.  The current release of ProLaw XII is required to utilize this app.

SQL tip for ProLaw Queries: LEN and DATALENGTH on different data types

When queryuing various information from ProLaw through reports or the SQL Management Studio, its important to know which fields are TEXT, VARCHAR, or other forms of strings as the functions used to call the data can vary.

ProLaw Tip: Need to rebill a statement with a payment applied and a check that has been cashed?

If you have a statement for a client that has been paid, and the check has been cashed, you are unable to unbill this in ProLaw.   If you need to either adjust the bill, or rebill the value, there is an easy way to modify the payment so you can unbill, and then rebill the values.

Importing data to ProLaw from Excel

We recently had an issue were we were importing data from Excel sheets into a staging table in SQL, then importing that data into ProLaw.  Some of the fields in excel were getting truncated and causing issues on the imports.
